About the Studio

Blue Monk Studio was founded with a spirit of creativity, community, and respect for Ann Arbor’s rich cultural roots.

Located at 120 West Washington on the top floor above the Grizzly Peak restaurant, our studio is a nod to the past and a launchpad for new expression.

The name “Blue Monk” honors the striking mural on our building and the legacy of the Del Rio—a beloved local landmark once known for its music, activism, and creative energy. We aim to carry that torch forward by offering a welcoming space where movement, music, and community meet.

From yoga and dance to improvisational jam sessions, we celebrate the freedom to move and make. Whether you're joining a class or hosting your own event, we invite you to be part of the Blue Monk rhythm.

Please note: Blue Monk Studio is located on the third floor of the building, accessible only by stairs. We regret that there is no elevator access at this time.
