Ana Patricia Hough, E-RYT® 200, E-RYT® 500, YACEP®, is the Founder and Owner of A2 Yoga and the A2 Yoga & Education Institute. She also serves as the Lead Trainer for the institute’s Teacher Training Programs.
Ana Patricia has always been deeply curious about the human body and how it moves. Though she once considered becoming a doctor, she found that traditional academic paths were not the right fit due to dyslexia. Instead, she pursued a more hands-on approach to learning and healing—becoming a massage therapist, yoga teacher, dance teacher, and artist.
Over the years, she has earned numerous certifications focused on expanding her understanding of the body, mind, emotions, and spirit. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, she and her siblings learned the value of running their own businesses early on. She opened her first yoga studio in 2002 and brings that extensive experience in studio management to her work with teacher trainees. Above all, Ana Patricia has devoted her career to the education and empowerment of others.

In 2011, Kate earned her 200-hour certification at Tranquil Space in Washington DC, and in 2019 she earned her 500-hour certification from Jason Crandell in San Francisco, CA. She acknowledges with gratitude all of the teachers who have shared their wisdom with her through the years.

She is deeply grateful for the practices of yoga and Ayurveda for helping her navigate this tremendous gift of life with an open heart, spacious body, and gentle mindset.

From her very first Awaken Vinyasa yoga class, Mikaela Schulz was hooked. The instructor moved through the room while teaching—telling stories, weaving in yoga philosophy, encouraging free flow and intuitive movement, and inviting students to their edges. Mikaela left that class feeling inspired, with an inner fire rekindled that she hadn’t realized had dimmed. It wasn’t just a yoga class; it was a practice that went beyond the physical poses and offered lessons in how to live more fully.
Although she didn’t initially know she wanted to become a yoga teacher, six years after that first class Mikaela decided to shift careers and traveled to Costa Rica to complete her yoga teacher training with Awaken Yoga School—studying under the same teacher who had first introduced her to the practice. Through teaching Awaken Vinyasa, Mikaela hopes to guide transformative and inspiring classes that impact her students as profoundly as the practice has impacted her.
